I would suggest that Biker Week become Biker Weekend.
We live 5 miles from Cave Creek and I don’t quarrel with closing the East Cave Creek Rd. as much as I do mind a string of several days of loud Harley’s revving past our neighborhood and the NOISE of engines every day. From 3 in the afternoon to past midnight, the roar is constant, unwelcome and obnoxious. For a week.
I was turned away from getting gas at the local Shell station because one Harley was filling up and 8 of his buddies had taken up the surrounding available space and didn’t care to make room so I could pull my truck up to a pump. Nice manners, people.
Along with the engine noise is a radio blaring from many bikes.
The attitude and the culture of these riders is hard to take when multiplied by thousands of bikers. I say a weekend of the event should be enough. It’s more than enough for all the folks who have to listen to them and don’t want to.
