Veterans Outreach Center receives new computers

The Veterans Outreach Center (Catholic Charities/MANA House) in Phoenix helps support those Veterans who find themselves in situations. Many of the Veterans who are allowed the privilege of using this facility are homeless. These men and sometimes women can enter the Center and grab a hot cup of coffee, a sandwich and fellowship. The Veterans who come to the Center have an opportunity to learn basic computer skills enabling them to get an entry level job; thus helping them get off the street. For a number of years Desert Foothills Lutheran Church (DFLC) in North Scottsdale has supported the Center with non-perishable food and clothing and last year with Christmas gifts.

Recently, Tech 4 Life, a computer repair and web design company in Carefree, asked DFLC if they were in need of computers. The church responded with a definite “yes” and a call was made to Chuck Ashby at the Outreach Center. Chuck received five newly refurbished computers for the Center. Chuck told DFLC that one lucky Veteran will receive a laptop when he transitions through MANA House.

“Thank you to Tech 4 Life and Desert Foothills Lutheran Church for this generous donation.”
