Sgt. Joan E. Sisco, founder of Veterans First, will be the guest speaker for the Saturday, Dec. 1, Veterans Ministry breakfast at 8 a.m. at La Casa de Cristo Lutheran Church, 6300 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale.
Sisco served in the Marine Corps from 1947-1977 and supported the Communication Officers School in Quantico, Virginia. Since leaving active duty, she has devoted her energies to serving veterans.
Her organization Veterans First, works to prevent homelessness among women veterans and provides referrals and resources to all veterans and their families. In 2009, Sisco was inducted into the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame.
The breakfast is free, and the community is invited. In addition to enjoying breakfast, veterans may visit the Veterans Booth for information and helpful resources.
