Dr. Steve Bebee, CSHS principal has been offered the position of Superintendent of the Casa Grande Union High School District. Bebee says he will officially become CGUHSD Superintendent at the June 6 CGUHSD board meeting. Bebee will then sign a contract with CGUHSD and then tender his resignation at Cactus Shadows. His last day with CCUSD will be June 30 and he will start in Casa Grande on July 1.

Search for a replacement is already underway according to Cave Creek Unified School District Superintendent Debbi Burdick. She said,” Knowing that the position will most likely be open and wanting to be proactive to attract and hire the very best candidate, we posted a few weeks ago when the CGUHSD Board President called Dr. Bebee to make the verbal offer of future employment. We posted the position on May 17th and began collecting applications. Initial interviews were done last week by a panel of parents, teachers and administrators and second interviews this week. However, no decisions or offers of employment will be made until we receive an official letter of resignation from Dr. Bebee.”

On a personal note, Burdick congratulated Dr. Bebee, “on this next step in his professional career and are grateful for the years of service and leadership he has given to CCUSD through principalships at Sonoran Trails Middle School and Cactus Shadows High School. We wish him the best of luck!”

A farewell story on Dr. Bebee will be in the June 20 edition of the Sonoran News.
