Sarah Ziker elected ASDAR State Chaplain

At the recent Arizona State Daughter of the American Revolution Spring Conference in Mesa, Sarah Ziker of Cave Creek was elected to the office of State Chaplain. Mrs. Ziker will serve her term of office from June 2018 – June 2020.

At the regular chapter’s April meeting, Sarah was presented with an Honorary Regent’s pin after serving 2 years successfully as Regent of the Black Mountain Foothills Chapter, NSDAR, located in Carefree/Cave Creek.

The ASDAR State Regent, Terri Mott presided over the installation of new officers who are Vicki Bobo, Regent; Ellen Nowak, Vice Regent; Carol Caldwell, Chaplain; Jacque Cummings, Corresponding/Recording Secretary; Marianne Hardy, Treasurer; Jeri Lyon, Registrar; Pege Verani, Historian; and Sarah Ziker, Librarian.

After Mrs. Mott gave a delightful presentation on White House pets, veterans were honored as part of The United States of America’s Vietnam War 50TH Commemoration. Any Veteran or surviving family who served during the 1955 TO 1975 Era, regardless of place where based, is eligible for an award. DAR is a vibrant non-political, non-profit volunteer service organization dedicated to promoting historic preservation, education, and patriotism. Any woman 18 years plus who can prove their lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, is eligible to join.
