‘Tis the season to be jolly with North Valley Symphony Orchestra, as they present a charming evening and matinee performance of seasonal favorites. Invite your family, friends and neighbors for a delightful performance of your favorite holiday music, Saturday, Dec. 16 at 7:00 p.m., or Sunday, Dec. 17 at 3:00 p.m. Both concerts will be performed at North Canyon High School Performing Arts Center, 1700 E. Union Hills Drive.

NVSO will make this a holiday to remember, as the adult orchestra performs selections made popular by Mannheim Steamroller and Trans Siberian Orchestra, Anderson’s popular Sleigh Ride, Berlin’s White Christmas, and more. You and your family will leave the concert in a festive holiday spirit as the concerts culminate with a holiday sing-along.

Pictures with Santa will be taken before the concerts and at intermission. Photographer Tom Argiro will provide a free download of your photo at his website. The talented NVSO Youth Orchestra will open the second half of the concerts with Prokofiev’s Troika from “Lieutenant Kije.”

NVSO proudly provides affordable concert experiences to the Phoenix north valley community. Tickets are only $5.00, and can be purchased on-line at www.northvalleysymphony.org. The “Holiday Pops” concert is the perfect way to inspire children and young adults in the appreciation of orchestral music, while starting a family tradition of regularly supporting the arts in your community.

The Saturday evening concert is sponsored by The Louie Foundation, a non-profit organization with focus on financial support of small animal rescue groups throughout the country, the creation of a place for older animals deemed unadoptable by shelters to live out their lives in a loving and caring environment, and providing a place where homeless people who have pets can find a shelter without having to be separated from their companion animals.

The Sunday matinee is sponsored by I Need An Angel, providing personalized caregiving services to include assistance with housekeeping and meals, hygiene and mobility, doctor appointments, errands, and companionship for lunch or a movie. They will assist when there is a need to move a loved one from their home, or simply provide an in-home haircut, pedicure, or any wellness session.

NVSO’s three youth orchestras will also be adding their musical talents to festivities at the Outlets at Anthem on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 3:00 p.m. They will additionally be performing their annual free holiday concert Saturday, Dec. 9 at 3:30 p.m. at Cactus Shadows High School, 5802 E. Dove Valley Rd., Cave Creek.

NVSO is supported by the Arizona Commission on the Arts with funding from the State of Arizona and the National Endowment for the Arts, and also the Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture through appropriations from the Phoenix City Council.
