CBP Initiates Pilot Program at Mariposa Crossing

NOGALES U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, will conduct a temporary pilot program at the Port of Nogales’ Mariposa crossing by opening additional lanes Monday through Friday, from 6 to 8 a.m., beginning Monday, Oct. 30.

The purpose of this pilot is to help mitigate wait times for travelers during peak morning hours.  CBP anticipates this will alleviate congestion at the DeConcini crossing and encourages daily commuters to use the Mariposa crossing instead.

“CBP is always looking for more ways to help facilitate the entry process for legitimate travelers,” said Port Director Efrain Solis. “We strongly encourage daily commuters to take advantage of this pilot program that could become permanent, depending on usage levels.”
