Improper terminology

Please tell Lester Holt and your entire reporting staff that there are no such devices as semi-automatic “assault” rifles or “assault” pistols. In your leftist frenzy to disarm Americans, you seem to resort to inflammatory buzzwords.

A rifle is either single-shot, bolt action, lever action,  automatic (with a selector switch to fire single rounds or a stream with each trigger press) or semi-automatic (one round per trigger press). The last one is also known as a “sporting rifle.

A pistol (Old Italian: pistoia) can be single-shot, a revolver or a semi-automatic model. The only automatic model available, under a very strict BSTFE control, is the G;ock-18.

Under NBC’s attempt to brainwash the public, there should also be assault trucks, vans, hammers, screwdrivers, fists, feet, elbows, baseball and cricket bats, kitchen knives, guitar strings, etc.

“Assault” is a violent act, regardless of the instrument.

BTW, if, hypothetically, I should possess firearms, there would not be a single event in which one would spontaneously jump out of the steel safe to injure or kill anyone.
