Taking stock of American values

As a society, we Americans have become so permissive, self-absorbed, and blasé about individual ‘rights’ that we are now blind and seemingly unaffected by the almost daily horrors Islamic terrorism has brought into our world, and our nation.  I wonder when we will have had enough.  I almost passed up the editorial by Frosty Wooldridge because I thought I didn’t need to hear/read any more Muslim bashing – see, even I almost (but not quite) fell under the spell of denial.

What other religion would instruct, no demand, that its followers kill ‘non-believers’ or condone ‘honor’ killings?  None.  What all-powerful and all-knowing God would demand it?  I don’t necessarily agree with all of the author’s suggestions because, unlike our president of the past 8 years, I still believe in the U.S. Constitution.  However he does provide an eye-opening view of Islam, and casts a light on the 1.5 Billion ‘moderate’ muslims who remain silent in the face of barbaric horrors committed by their not so moderate brethren.   Our nation, our society, and the world at large is out of balance – common sense and basic human decency need to be restored.  Perhaps 2017 will be the year that Americans say, enough!  Okay, I’m, done.
