Trump will state the obvious about immigration | Tuesday, April 26 results | Reminders

Don SorchychThe following statement on immigration has been falsely attributed to Vladimir Putin, the Russian president in an address to the Duma (Russian Parliament) and over the last ten years has been added to, revised and become a viral email message you may have read:

“In Russia live Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia, to work and eat in Russia, should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws. If they prefer Sharia Law, then we advise them to go to those places where that’s the state law. Russia does not need minorities. Minorities need Russia, and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell ‘discrimination.’ We better learn from the suicides of America, England, Holland and France, if we are to survive as a nation. The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture or the primitive ways of most minorities. When this honorable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, it should have in mind the national interest first, observing that the minorities are not Russians.”

If you substituted America instead of Russia, wouldn’t it make a great speech for an American president?

The only presidential candidate with the testicular fortitude to give that speech is Donald Trump. Our Congress would boo him for lack of political correctness.

Carlos Sada Solana, new Mexican ambassador to the United States, says he will defend Mexican interests. What that means is defend against Trump’s assertions about drugs and criminality coming from illegals. If you read our weekly Border Report you will see Trump understates the problems created by illegal alien criminals, the drug cartels and what it costs to give welfare and healthcare to illegals.

While Solana says he will provide information about the “contributions made by Mexico” he doesn’t mention the contributions made by America. However, although Solana got his job because his predecessor wasn’t effective against Trump’s assertions, Solana is too late to cause Trump any damage.

Close the damned border!

Tuesday April 26 results
Trump continues to roll! There were five states up for grab and Trump not only won all five states, but he won them all at over 50 percent and won in every county in all five states. The states are Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Delaware and Maryland.

Upcoming is Indiana and if Trump wins there it is all over.

Last week, Trump held a press conference and discussed foreign policy. From what I read there was a beginning to end connection to much he has said during his campaign. Unlike Trump, he used a teleprompter like Obama is so fond of. But still, Trump deviated from the teleprompter to include various Trump-isms.

Every week it is sweat out time to get Tuesday results but it is amazing how quickly modern computer algorithms call races. Sometimes it is with less than 10 percent of the votes tallied. If you track politics FOX is outstanding in that regard.

Reminders
I have complained a half dozen times about the fact that Jankowski and council are allowing the round water tank in front of the Roadhouse to exist on town property. Of course, the town owns the liability if the object causes a wreck and it is in a good place to be involved in damage from cars or motorcycles. Being allowed to remain on Cave Creek property is another example of crony capitalism.

New developments make it even more sinister. We have heard Roadhouse owner Jim O’Toole has pulled a packet to run for council. Wonder if O’Toole is aware of conflicts of interest?
Worse is the fact that Councilman, and mayoral candidate, Ernie Bunch and Mayor Vincent Francia voted to allow the illegal patio built on Cave Creek property. It was a 5-2 vote.

Roadhouse hired an attorney, called the illegal patio a “trial period” and sought approval to build the patio again. That time, Bunch was the single vote to allow it on a failed vote of 1-6. Crony capitalism.

The same is true for road closures to benefit the Roadhouse and Hideaway. Council candidates swore they would allow no road closures except for Fiesta Days, Cactus Shadows High School and the Wild West Days parades. Yet, during the most recent Bike Week, Jankowski “compromised” by allowing two weekends only of road closures with attendant traffic delays and town hostility about road closures. Even so, the town violated its own agreement by adding Fridays to “weekends.” Crony capitalism!

The upcoming election will not only be interesting but dangerous to the future of Cave Creek. We have seen what a slate can do and none of it is good. To have Eileen Wright leading a slate explains a good deal, none of it good. Reg Monachino has shown he is a doofus many times over. Anna Marsolo’s ex Paul Diefenderfer seems connected at the hip with Monachino from their days working together at the museum on the stamp mill. That little bit of “community service” is not enough to be elected to council. Anyway, we know the dark side, and will not support it.
