‘Pursuing victory with honor’
And that’s exactly how Coach Jeff Vittorio had his Lady Falcons play against the Moon Valley LadyRockets, after the LadyBirds powered to an 8-0 halftime lead en route to an 11-1 rout. Taryn McClendon scored twice in the first three minutes, and the runaway was on. McClendon would score her third goal in the 2nd half, giving her two “hat-tricks” (three goals) in consecutive matches. Seniors Kylie Orlando and Michelle Jouas each had two goals. Photographed postgame by Sonoran News were team co-captains junior Saige Williams(l) and senior Tiffiny Maitland, flanking Coach Vittorio. The Soccer Ladies moved on to the competitive Horizon Tournament, Dec. 6-10. Next home match Tuesday, Dec. 14 – a big one – against Cactus, 6 p.m. start time.
