The Desert Awareness Committee (DAC) is leading a hike in the New River area to a petroglyph site on Thursday, Dec. 9. The hike is rated as easy and is a distance of 5.6 miles roundtrip. Please meet at the Lowe’s parking lot at the corner of Cave Creek Rd. and Carefree Highway at 9 a.m. Please bring water and have proper clothing and shoes for hiking on trails. There is no charge for this hike but DAC is asking that you bring an item that can be used for their “Necessitree.” These items include toiletries, diapers, and toilet paper.
