Cave Creek’s newest certified municipal clerk
CAVE CREEK – Assistant Town Clerk/Receptionist Teresa Riza received her certified municipal clerk (CMC) designation last month after completing a three-year program through Arizona State University, the Arizona Municipal Clerk’s Association and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
Explaining the process of becoming a CMC, Riza said it is a combination of work experience and course study, which is an ongoing process as laws change from time to time.
Last year, Riza received her certification as an election official from Maricopa County.
Riza, who has worked for the town for about three and a half years, said it is a privilege to work with and be mentored by Town Clerk Carrie Dyrek, who holds certification as a master municipal clerk, the highest level attainable.
