Huber Stevens being elected a Republican Precinct Committeemen would be the equivalent of a rational conservative Republican eating Brillo. Not only is the idea distasteful, it gets worse trying to eliminate it.
Why is it that so-called conservatives like Russell Pearce only care about the constitution and individual liberties when the liberty or right is something they agree with? Pearce called this country a Republic. He ought to know the majority must be stopped by of course looking out for the rights of all individuals. It’s time for people to stop thinking in terms of conservatives and liberals and see that there are other choices such as common sense and consistency.
Does it appear Hitchon is running for office? Good, she needs the workout. Creekers, count your blessings.
I just want to tell you how much I appreciate your paper. I was reading the issue my daughter just sent me from Scottsdale. I am particularly referring to Steele Coddington and God Bless American. But the article on Mr. Thorstenson – boy if that isn’t a wake up call! Thank you Sonoran News! You people need medals pinned on you. I did love Steele Coddington’s article “Frankly you see and still love me.” It split my sides. I called the Goldwater Institute and told them to get a copy of it. It’s hilarious and oh, how true it is. Thank you for all you do. Your paper is a beacon. The only other paper I get is Washington Times. Thank you for helping. You’re a great newspaper and I love your staff. It’s to be commended for everything you are doing. God bless you.
I am eagerly awaiting the October mailing of the publicity pamphlet regarding Proposition 407 on the November ballot that will certainly contain the GOB mob's explanation why they want to amend direct election of the mayor even before a public vote for mayor has occurred. I would have entered a "con" statement but the town's publication fee of $250 for "300 words or less" is not in my budget. Someone sued the town in Superior Court years ago to try to reduce the amount but the town disagreed and the judge found $250 is just peachy.
I checked the Carefree web site and noticed the court bailiff is the same as the town marshal. Does that mean if he arrests me he can whisper in his employing judge's ear about what an evil act I have committed and his suggested bail amount? Will my AAA bail bond card be refused?
I am a subscriber living in Texas. I have been reading about the immigration law and how the government is going to sue the state. I wonder why they aren’t using another aspect of the immigration problem – verified by human Resources, human health and the CDC – that these people are bringing over disease, bacteria and parasites. Just last week on The History Channel they devoted an entire hour to the problem in Arizona. One of the stories was about a retired Chicago couple moved to Arizona for their health and very shortly thereafter he acquired a brain parasite probably acquired in Arizona restaurants because unskilled illegals are getting jobs handling food. The report I got relayed they carry disease resistant to antibiotics. No one has mentioned that these people are killing residents and other people with whom they come into contact. It is so bad the CDC report I received said not to go near a hospital unless absolutely necessary because the illegal aliens are coming over the border for medical help. This is getting pretty bad. No one has brought this up that illegals are bringing this into the state.
I booked an international airplane flight recently. Taxes and fees added 27.8 percent. It reminded me of Carefree's sales tax rate.
Obama is a "Pole Turtle." If you ever see a turtle sitting on top of a fence pole you know the following: He didn't get up there by himself. He doesn't belong up there. He doesn't know what to do while up there. He certainly isn't going anywhere and you have to wonder what kind of dumb ass put him there in the first place.
I have often wondered why it is that the conservatives are called the “right” and the liberals are called the “left.”
Verses in the Bible:
Ecclesiastes 10:2 (NIV)
“The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left.”
Ecclesiastes 10:3 (Scofield Study System - NIV)
“Even as he walks along the road, the fool lacks sense and shows everyone how stupid he is.”
Ecclesiastes 10:6
“Fools are put in many high positions, while the rich occupy the low ones.”
Ecclesiastes 10:13
“At the beginning his words are folly; at the end they are wicked madness-and the fool multiplies words,”
Ecclesiastes 10:15
“A fool’s work wearies him; he does not know the way to town.”
Ecclesiastes 10:16
“Woe to you, O land whose king was a servant and whose princes feast in the morning,”
I for one can’t wait to hear what the President’s excuse is going to be for the next terrorist attack coming on the U.S. considering the government allowed the door to be propped wide open for the terrorists to come in as they please. P.S. I am boycotting everything Mexican just because of the lack of respect they are showing while in our country.
If I can say one thing to the illegal aliens, undocumented, unregistered non-US citizens it would be that this bill is nothing personal. It’s not racist or even about race. It’s about protecting this country. This bill should have happened a long time ago and perhaps we would have been spared 9-11. Now we must do this. If you were in your own country and this were happening there you would want to protect it. This is our country and we need to protect it. Get legal or get out! Sorry.
If the creepy Carefree crowd gets that bum Stevens elected they deserve everything they get. Remember Stevens and Los Arcos, Stevens and 7 percent, 20 year, non-callable water company bonds, Stevens the life long bully. The high price water you drink today is based upon Stevens’ experience in corrupt politics.
I’m kind of offended about what Don said recently. He said most illegal immigrants wear a kind of uniform and they get their clothes at Goodwill. Excuse me! I buy my clothes at Goodwill and I am an American citizen. That comment alone was way out of context. I live in Mesa and believe me we have our share of illegal aliens. It seems kind of funny the state has concentrated on a bunch of guys with leaf blowers. Meanwhile the good old boy American citizens down the street are setting up meth labs. Not doing anything about that. We need to get our priorities back on track. There are more problems than just illegal aliens. If I could afford to leave I would. You’ve got enough American citizens in this state that leech off the system and deal drugs. Address American criminals too – they come from anywhere and everywhere and all walks of life.
