King Arthur, of legend and song, strode across Medieval England with courage and confidence. Or did he?
Continuing the famed Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) tradition of transforming a familiar story into a contemporary parable with a twist, MCT’s musical comedy “King Arthur’s Quest,” presented by Desert Foothills Community Education at the Cactus Shadows Fine Arts Center, weaves its way through a landscape of surprises.
What if the troubles of King Arthur’s kingdom threatened to overwhelm him? Will the inhabitants of MCT’s off-kilter Camelot: King Arthur, Guinevere, Merlin, The Raven, Lancelot Knights, Squires, Camelotians, Lady of the Lake, Mordred, Morgan Le Fey, Uther Pendragon, Damsels in Distress and Minis, do the right thing?
The young and the young-at-heart will laugh, gasp and cheer MCT’s “King Arthur’s Quest” at Friday’s 7 p.m. performance. Tickets are available at the door the night of the performance: Adults, $5; Students (K-College), $2; Pre-K children are FREE. The Cactus Shadows Fine Arts Center is located at 33606 N. 60th St., Scottsdale 85262, one half mile south of Carefree Highway.
