Local non-profit looking for volunteers to help plan, organize and assist with the new Caring Corps Annex
CAREFREE – Are you looking to do something worthwhile this summer?
You can make a difference by volunteering for the Foothills Caring Corps, a non-profit agency that provides support for older persons in the northeast Valley who wish to remain living independently.
The agency needs volunteers for their new Caring Corps Annex, 7275 E. Easy St., Ste. 106, in Carefree. Initial plans for the Annex are to offer a limited retail selection along with interesting community events, all benefiting the Foothills Caring Corps.
Men and women of all ages and stages of life are needed to fill volunteer positions for the organization, which promotes the physical, mental and emotional well-being of nearly 465 recipients throughout the Carefree, Cave Creek, Desert Hills, north Scottsdale and north Phoenix communities.
The agency provides friendly home visits, wellness checks, hot meal delivery, medical and van transportation, grocery shopping assistance, minor home repairs and caregiver relief.
Along with Annex volunteers, drivers and assistants are also needed for social, recreational and medical appointment transportation. Drivers use the Foothills Caring Corps vans.
Volunteer orientations are held every second Thursday of the month from 9 – 11 a.m. at the Caring Corps offices. For more information, contact the Foothills Caring Corps, 480-488-1105 or visit www.FoothillsCaringCorps.com.
