Katie L. Bay
Katie L. Bay, 87, of Carefree, passed away on April 3, 2010. She was born in Graham, Texas on April 16, 1922. She is preceded in death by her husband Harold L. Bay, daughter Joyce Kocks and son Fred Bay. She is survived by three daughters, Judy Kocks, Cindy Webster and Teresa Vaillancourt, three sons, Chip (Harold) Bay, Dale Bay and David Bay. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She resided in Carefree for over 23 years.
She and Hal helped operate the old fashioned Ice Cream Shoppe in Carefree in the Spanish Village. Katie, Hal and family moved to Arizona in 1959 from Texas.
She leaves this world to join a better one and to follow the light to meet with the family that has been awaiting her. She will be buried with Harold in the National Veteran’s Cemetary on her birthday April 16, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. There will be a celebration of her life at the American Legion in Cave Creek directly after the service.
