Mayor Francia delivers good news
CAVE CREEK –
The first Open Space Acquisition Kick-Off Event was held Saturday at the new Cave Creek Regional Park Nature Center.
Mayor Francia announced an anonymous donation of $10,000 has been made toward the open space purchase.
Not everyone can donate that kind of money, according to Terry Smith, who said he and his wife Mary are donating the price of one acre – in honor of their engagement – which took place on a very special place on the land designated to be open space. Smith encouraged everyone to do the same.
The day was perfect for enjoying the incredible scenery of the park and Bob Fox’s Wild at Heart Owl and Raptor Rehab Center Exhibition. Food and beverages were donated by Silver Spur Saloon and Wal-Mart. The Rendezvous Trio entertained everyone.
Upcoming fundraisers include a bicycling event, a hike-a-thon, a trail run, an archeological hike and a Sonoran Arts League event.
Mark your calendar and plan to attend an equestrian fundraiser, tentatively schedule for October 10. Visit www.CaveCreek.org for date confirmation and details.
