Joan (Joanie) M. Peterson
After a battle for most of her life against seizure disorder Joan M. Peterson (Joanie)
succumbed to the battle and passed away Jan. 9, 2009. She was born in Rockford Il.
Sept. 4, 1964. Although unable to work for most of her life, she volunteered for various causes. The latest contribution was her devotion to the Foothills Caring Corp, and as a volunteer, assisting those whose needs were greater than hers. She is survived by her
mother Margaret Bartz, stepfather Ronald Bartz, both of Carefree, father Charles Peterson of Freeport Ill., sisters Kathy Johnson of Rockford Ill., Karen Guenther of Round Lake Beach Ill., twin brother, Gary Peterson of Geneva Ill., and Thomas Peterson of Freeport, Ill. and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister Janice in 1977.
Joan never complained about her disability and accepted her life with a ready smile and willingness to help others. She loved living in Carefree and had many friends here. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 11 a.m. at Messinger Pinnacle Peak
Mortuary, 8555 E. Pinnacle Peak Rd., Scottsdale. A memorial has been established for “The Foothills Caring Corp” in Joan Peterson’s name.
