Christmas ornaments and charity come together at Level 9
December 3, 2008
CAVE CREEK – Level 9 Gallery will hold its first annual "Artists and Ornaments" charity event during the month of December.
Beginning Dec. 1, hand-made Christmas ornaments created by the gallery's artists as well as other artists in Cave Creek, will be on display in the gallery. Each day, one at a time, throughout the month of December, another amazing creation will be added to the display. Visit the gallery often, located at 6047 E. Cave Creek Rd., to watch the divine collection of tiny art pieces grow.
Raffle tickets will be sold in the gallery from Dec. 1 until Dec. 22 at 5 p.m. Raffle tickets are $2 each or three tickets for $5. The drawings for the ornaments will be held in the gallery Dec. 22 at 6 p.m. There will be at least 20 winners.
This year, the proceeds of the Artists and Ornaments event will go to our friends at Little Feet.
Little Feet is an organization headed by Trevor and Brittany Slavick, that delivers soccer balls to children in poverty around the world.
On a trip to Honduras, they met a young boy who was making soccer balls for his friends to play with. He was making the balls out of all things – a coffee sack. They traded their soccer ball for his and, as a gesture of thanks, the community gave them some coffee to take home.
In 2008 on a dirt soccer field in Honduras, the Little Feet Coffee Company was founded on three principles:
• TAKE CARE OF OUR FARMERS by paying above fair market pricing and offering profit sharing on all sales.
• TAKE CARE OF THEIR KIDS by giving them the opportunity to play the beautiful game of soccer.
• TAKE CARE OF YOU by providing some of the best specialty coffee in the world.
