Scottsdale Civil War Round Table proudly presents “The Devil’s to Pay: John Buford at Gettysburg” by Eric Wittenberg on February 21 at the Scottsdale Civic Center Library. Eric J. Wittenberg is a native of southeastern Pennsylvania. He was educated at Dickinson College and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Eric manages the litigation practice at Cook, Sladoje & Wittenberg Co., L.P.A.

WittenbergWittenberg is the author of 18 published books on the Civil War as well as more than two dozen published articles on Civil War cavalry operations.  His articles have appeared in Gettysburg Magazine, North & South, Blue & Gray, Hallowed Ground, and Civil War Times Illustrated.  Winning several awards for his work, his specialty is cavalry operations with a particular emphasis on mounted operations in the Gettysburg Campaign.  Frequently working with the Civil War Trust on various preservation projects, he was also a member of the Governor of Ohio’s Advisory Commission on the Sesquicentennial of the Civil War, and is a past president of the Central Ohio Civil War Round Table.

The Scottsdale Civil War Round Table meets at 6:40 p.m. on February 21 (the third Tuesday of every month except June, July & August) at the Scottsdale Civic Center Library (Auditorium) 3839 N Drinkwater Blvd Scottsdale.  Speakers are comprised of well-known Civil War experts from around the country.  The group supports battlefield preservation through the Civil War Trust.  All are welcome.  For more information:www.scottsdalecwrt.org -or- 480-699-5844.
