CAREFREE PARK

Did Carefree attract you because you wanted to live in a town with NO parks and ZERO recreational facilities? Is it possible that Carefree is the only town with a population of gray, silver and white hairs to defy EVERY other town’s desire to have a park with recreational facilities? If you still listen to the mayor, administrator and council that gave us the Hampton Inn and property tax vote you probably think Carefree residents don’t want a park.. Before this group dedicated $30,000,000 to roads did anyone from town hall ask you whether you would support a park with recreational facilities?

Carefree supports an operating budget that screams for DOGE. We have the money to pay for, build and maintain a park. Our tax dollars only need to be re-directed from being wasted and mis-spent.

First question. If financially affordable would carefree residents want a park that will not only maintain our Sonoran environment but will eliminate additional residential development while immensely improving our quality of life? Instead of dedicating $30,000,000 on roads and $30,000,000 on a water project town hall could have also considered making room in the budget for a park? A park will give our residents a safe place to walk, relax, socialize, exercise, make new friends and even play pickleball, the game every other town can’t build courts fast enough while generally improving the quality of our lives. Will the cost to maintain this park be prohibitive. NO! 1,800 homes x $25 per month = $45,000 per month to maintain a park you will enjoy with family, friends, visitors and new acquaintances. Additionally, a park with recreational facilities would significantly improve Carefree’s attraction and Real Estate value.
