Not the Time to drop your guard

Are you letting your self-defense mindset weaken?

We have entered a new era marked by significant transformations within our nation, led by the new administration. Regardless of opinions on these changes, observations show that the situation remains active.

While many citizens support the changes and decisions made by the President as represented during the election, there is still a significant percentage that opposes the actions of the White House.

Though the opposing numbers are not greater than the supporting numbers, the minority tends to take to the streets in greater numbers and most of the time it gets violent and destructive.

Now, with that said, I do not think these actions represent the left, but I do believe that an unknown person or organization is responsible for organizing and funding the protests and violence that we see televised so often.

Despite efforts, many politicians continue to make provocative statements that fuel anger among these groups.

How does this affect us? People with specific beliefs or even those driving certain vehicles are being targeted. Violent gang members are being deported, but should we lower our guard when American citizens commit many violent acts? Some groups hold strong beliefs and react strongly when challenged.

Although I am not a political expert or behavioral professional, I can evaluate potential risks and threats. Soon, the changes implemented by this Administration regarding the judicial system and law enforcement may contribute to creating a safer environment for the nation.

I am always mindful of safety, adjusting my alertness based on numerous factors.

The conditions are White (unaware), Yellow (aware), Orange (heightened awareness), and Red (action).

The first factor is what is happening in my nation, my region, my state and of course my neighborhood. Based on these factors and in this current environment I vary from Yellow to Orange on a regular basis.

Red, or Action can vary from person to person. When I think of condition Red I am already in a threatening situation where I must take action to escape from or fight to survive.

Some might think action might mean taking your firearm because you must travel through a shady area or dialing 911 because of something they just observed or witnessed.

No matter how you define your situational awareness, now is not the time to reduce or ignore it. Danger can emerge even in the safest environments, regardless of political issues or threats from foreign border crossers.

Preparing for a self-defense scenario involves taking various steps. Being prepared can provide a sense of security because of one’s knowledge, skill, and readiness.

The highest level of personal safety is when you become skilled enough to protect yourself and others. This capability is rewarding and life changing. Not just protecting yourself but being capable of protecting others should be your ultimate safety goal.

Training is essential to gain knowledge, skills, and the appropriate mindset. This requires dedication and time. Self-defense and protecting others are complex tasks that require effort.

Your actions depend on numerous factors. How many people know the law well enough to feel confident about their decisions? Many do not consider this or are misinformed about their rights, which can lead to imprisonment.

Previous articles have discussed emergency medical training. It is simple to learn how to use essential tools to save a life. In situations where something might occur, there is a likelihood that someone could get injured.

Do not let your guard down, get trained, continue training, keep learning, and never stop preparing.

NEVER STOP TRAINING!
