Must we always learn the hard expensive way? Ignoring financial realities for years the question is NEVER are we going to pay. The question ALWAYS becomes when and how much we will pay.
Regardless of politics, considering how our federal and Carefree government has been spending our tax dollars, an ounce of common sense stitched with a dose of logic would have predicted last week’s fiscal reckoning. Like the stock market,Carefree’s day of reckoning will be VERY expensive. The irreversible costs will surface in a PROPERTY TAX, undesirable residential development, and the evaporation of what was a special small open Sororan hometown..
Our administration finds it is in their interest to operate Carefree, a town of 3600 part-time residents like Scottsdale, Phoenix, Mesa, Tempe or Chandler.
Is that why you moved to Carefree?
Our administration rejects any version of DOGE or transparency. Coupled with knowing that over 95% of our residents do not attend town hall meetings creates the ultimate bureaucrat’s wonderland. The mayor’s own financial speakers predicted that based on our current national economic climate Carefree can expect a PROPERTY TAX proposal. Deferring to common sense and logic. Expenses to operate Carefree are too high expecting to rely on robust retail tax revenue. ANSWER: REDUCE EXPENSES: Step one. You cannot pay an administrator more than twice the Arizona Governor’s salary and more than the $174,000 US senator salary to administer a bleeding budget with MILLIONS of dollars of waste, inefficiency, and questionable expenses that are not in Carefree’s interest. If you would like to be involved with a group of concerned residents investigating and discussing platforms for rescuing, improving and
KEEPING CAREFREE CAREFREE.
