President’s message for Sonoran Arts League

Last Thursday I had the pleasure of attending the presentation by Paige Reesor at the March League General Meeting. The Membership Committee works very hard to arrange the meetings and it is sad that they are poorly attended. Paige was a wonderful speaker and, if you were not there you missed a real treat.

Volunteers are vital to the operation of the League and this month I want to give a special mention to Carol and Mel Brook who have co-chaired the small committee that has put together the Sonoran Arts Festival. By the time you read this the Festival will be over and I hope very much that it is a success to reflect the hard work done by Carol & Mel, amongst others on the Committee.

I am getting fabulous feedback about the classes taking place at the League Studio in Stagecoach Village. Youth classes are very well attended. The Thursday morning class for Veterans has a huge following. Meanwhile the League’s ceramic offerings are going from strength to strength, and we have an impressive line-up of classes in other mediums.

Finally, a big thank you to the Arizona Fine Art Expo, for supporting the League during their Equestrian Live Draw and online auction. The auction raised very valuable funds for the League and it is appreciated.
