For the 23rd year, Outlets North Phoenix, previously Outlets at Anthem, will kick off the holiday season by lighting the state’s tallest fresh-cut Christmas tree and hosting a free holiday concert. The festive family event takes place Saturday, Nov. 23

The official tree lighting ceremony and holiday concert is presented by Kimes Ranch including performances by American Idol contestant, Elleigh Marie, and country music artist, Ashley Wineland.

Immediately following the concert, Santa Claus and his team of elves will flip the switch to illuminate more than 1.5 miles of LED lights, roughly 10,000 bulbs, on the 70-foot-tall white fir that traveled more than 750 miles from the Shasta-Trinity National Forest on the California/Oregon border. The tree is adorned with over 5,000 ornaments and is topped with a three-foot copper star, a nod to the state’s official metal.

“Nothing says the start of the holiday season like the lighting of the state’s tallest fresh-cut Christmas tree,” said Lisa Nyrose, General Manager of Outlets North Phoenix. “For more than two decades we have been the perfect place for Valley residents to carry on holiday traditions and create new ones with the people they love.”

In addition to the ceremonial tree lighting and free concert, shoppers participate in a special fundraiser for deployed U.S. service members with the nonprofit organization, Youth for Troops.
