Dear Residents,
I want to take a moment to address the recent letter you received from the town of Carefree about the sale of Rural Metro Fire Department to Brindlee Fire Services. As your Battalion Chief, I’m reaching out to reassure you that the exceptional Fire and Medic services you’ve come to rely on from Rural Metro will not only continue but thrive. You’ll still see the same committed firefighters who know this community inside and out—ready to respond quickly and expertly whenever you need us.
Brindlee Fire Services, like Rural Metro, shares a strong dedication to small-town fire service values. Founded in 2001 in Alabama, Brindlee Fire has grown to be the largest buyer and seller of used fire trucks in the Western Hemisphere. Their mission is clear: to enhance public safety by supporting fire departments with high-quality apparatus, essential repair services, fire stations, and skilled firefighters.
We believe that joining Brindlee Fire will be a true benefit for Rural Metro, as they are fully focused on fire response and committed to the mission of keeping communities safe. This new partnership is a positive step forward, with the strength of Brindlee Fire’s resources and expertise now behind us.
Rural Metro Fire has been proudly serving communities for over 70 years across 20 states, offering vital fire protection services—everything from fire prevention and suppression to emergency response, medical aid, and home safety inspections. These services, which include snake removals, wildfire and seat-check inspections, will not only continue but have the potential to improve under Brindlee Fire’s support.
To all residents of the Town of Carefree, unincorporated Cave Creek, and Maricopa County, please know that we remain steadfast in our dedication to providing the top-tier fire services you expect. I anticipate no changes in the level of service—Rural Metro will continue to stand by you 24/7.
Our firefighters and paramedics are among the best in the nation, bringing years of knowledge and hands-on experience to our communities. We are here for you, now and always.
With gratitude and commitment,
Mark Cichocki
