Since 2010, Black Mountain Elementary School has hosted a Patriot Day Ceremony, inviting local first responders and their families to the school to be honored by the students for their bravery and commitment. After being welcomed by students to campus, the first responders are honored in the gymnasium with a musical tribute by the entire student body. The event also coincides with their Grandparents’ Breakfast, bringing together different generations to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions of first responders.
This event is a highlight of the school year, fostering a sense of patriotism and community spirit among students and families.
