Desert Foothills Land Trust continues August Match Challenge

Board and Committee Members Pledge $40,000 in Matching Funds

Cave Creek, Carefree, Scottsdale, North Valley Desert Foothills Land Trust (DFLT) is thrilled to launch its August Match Challenge, a month-long fundraising initiative designed to enhance educational programs, broaden outreach efforts, and secure additional acres of permanently protected desert landscapes.

This campaign will also support the ongoing stewardship of our existing 1,100 acres spread across 29 preserves.

Throughout August, every donation made to DFLT will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $40,000, thanks to the generous support of the organization’s Board and Committee members. This challenge presents an unprecedented opportunity for community members to double their impact in preserving the unique Sonoran Desert landscape.

“This August Match Challenge is a testament to our commitment to conservation and community engagement,” said Vicki Preston, President & CEO at Desert Foothills Land Trust. “Every donation, no matter the size, will have twice the impact in safeguarding sensitive lands, preserving mountain views, protecting archaeological sites and riparian areas, and supporting native species.”

Since 1991, DFLT has been at the forefront of local conservation efforts, successfully preserving nearly 1,100 acres of Sonoran Desert. The funds raised through this challenge will not only support ongoing conservation efforts but also enhance the Trust’s ability to serve the community through expanded outreach and educational programs.
