Rose Marie Fields, 81, of Mesa, AZ passed away on October 18, 2021. She was born on March 26, 1940 in Shiprock, NM.
Rose was a research biologist with The National Institute of Health and also worked for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for a number of years. She was a 10K and half marathon runner and had a strong interest in general fitness. She had a passion for writing and even won awards for her writings.
Rose was a strongly committed Christian woman and sang in the choir for the annual Christmas Pageant in Cave Creek for many years. She supported various worthy causes such as St. Mary’s Food Bank, the Salvation Army, the Phoenix Children’s Hospital, and others.
Rose shared a beautiful marriage of 54 years with her loving husband, Larry Fields. Alongside Larry, she leaves behind a wonderful son, Clay Fields, 2 beautiful grandchildren, and her sister, Louise Peter.
She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters in Shiprock, NM on the Navajo reservation.
Rose would be honored to have you attend the service, which will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 W Beardsley Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85027.
The graveside service will be at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Rose’s name can be made to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
