This phenomenon occurs about three times per year, at varying intervals. Astrologers have long observed that during Mercury’s retrograde periods, schedules are changed, routine communications become confused or lost, and people intuitively delay decisions. The experiences of retrograding Mercury press us to slow down, reflect, and review information. If we force a decision while Mercury is retrograding, it is often reversed or revised during the planet’s direct motion periods. Depending upon its relationship to other planets in the solar system, some Mercury retrogrades can be more challenging than others. Because of the ruffian collection of planets in Capricorn, this Mercury retrograde has brought threats of war. Now that it is beginning to move forward, the road to resolution of these difficulties may become less fraught with communication challenges.
Aries: This is not your best week. You have concerns about money and people you care for. It is possible the stressors may affect your health. Don’t add to your load of concerns. Normally you can manage multiple tasks and enjoy doing so. This week is one to stick to your calendar and don’t volunteer for more.
Taurus: A friendship that began with gusto in mid-May arrives at a point of evaluation. The question of commitment may always be an issue in this situation. The Bulls are careful about commitment because they mean it and know the responsibility it carries. Some of the other signs are not so persevering. Watch your step.
Gemini: Your ruling planet, Mercury, is turning direct this week. This represents a shift of attention from financial matters to focus on communications, neighbors, siblings, and others who are in your daily environment. Cancer: Mercury has been traveling in your sign since mid-July. It has caused you to reflect deeply on your next direction. Now that it is turning direct, you feel more capable of making decisions and moving forward. You’ll be cautious at first, but your moves will pick up steam soon.

Libra: You may feel compelled to make impulsive purchases because of their beauty. Don’t flip out the credit card until you have had a few days to think whether this purchase is really what you want. Love, social life, and romance may be exciting and attract a lot of your attention.
Scorpio: Don’t try to make anything happen this week. Stick to your regular schedule and take your time, lest you overstress your body. Authorities are not sympathetic to your cause(s), so don’t push the river at this time. Your reflexes are off; drive and handle tools carefully.
Sagittarius: Your new focus will be mind-expanding. You may be researching a new interest, gazing over travel brochures for your next adventure, or pursuing an interest in philosophy, education, or religion. You feel on the verge of a decision in one or more of these areas.
