An easy collar
Police in Springfield, OR spotted Brock Williams, a convicted felon wanted on a parole violation, in the parking lot of a local supermarket. They quickly gave chase as Williams sped off on a stolen motorcycle, reports the Association of Mature American Citizens [AMAC]. It was not so difficult keeping up with him. The motorcycle’s license plate read: XFELON.
Taking it easy
Marathoners in Boerne, TX signed up for the town’s big racing event in droves. In fact, says the Association of Mature American Citizens [AMAC], they had to shut down registration early this year. It’s no wonder. The 0.5K contest starts out with a free pint of beer for all contestants and includes a coffee and doughnut break at the half way mark. Approximately 10 minutes later, at the end of the “race,” the runners will head off to the nearby Cibolo Creek Brewery for another free beer and a chance “to relive the experience, brag to our friends, take selfies to post on social media.” It’s all for a good cause, Blessings in a Backpack which provides meals for kids in need.
The open road beckons
Harley-Davidson is offering a special kind of a 12-week internship to college students, says the Association of Mature American Citizens [AMAC]. The motorcycle manufacturer’s “job posting” speaks for itself. “We’ll teach you to ride, give you a bike and pay you to discover motorcycle culture while you find your freedom on the open road. And at the end of it all, you’ll get to keep a bike. Yep, you read that right. It’s yours.” The company is asking all participants to use social media to promote the wonders of motorcycling during their wanderings.
