Here’s an opportunity for you be part of a fantastic art project that will go on public display, even if you don’t think you’re an artist. The Desert Foothills Library and the Sonoran Arts League are teaming up to create a large mural that will be part of the library once renovation is complete.
Most importantly, you will have fun doing it. The mural is coming from a photograph. The photograph has been sectioned into 96 squares. There are 96 blank one foot squares that will need to be painted to match the corresponding square on the photo. Here’s what makes it easy. Members of the Sonoran Arts League have drawn lines and marked colors on each of the squares. Basically it’s a huge ‘paint by numbers’ artwork.
It’s also a great opportunity to mix and mingle with friends and community members. Light refreshments will be served. There is no charge to be part of this and all supplies are provided free of charge. The Public Mural Project Party will be Monday, May 14 6:30pm – 8:30pm at the Sonoran Arts League Center for the Arts in Stagecoach Village, 7100 East Cave Creek Road Suite 144, Cave Creek.
