PHOENIX – The Salvation Army will serve its annual Christmas dinner to thousands at the Phoenix Convention Center’s South Building, on the southeast corner of South 3rd Street and Washington Street, on Monday, Dec. 25.
The doors will open at 9:30 a.m., with meal service from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dinner guests will be seated and served restaurant style by hundreds of dedicated volunteers.
This complimentary dinner is open to the public and will include spiritual care, live entertainment, photos with Santa, a toy room, additional kids’ activities and free haircuts.
“We welcome anyone who would like to join us for a hot meal and fellowship with people in their community,” said The Salvation Army Metro Phoenix Program Coordinator Major Nancy Dihle. “The Salvation Army is extremely grateful for the Phoenix Convention Center, our corporate partners, generous donors and dedicated volunteers… all without whom this dinner would not be possible.”
Nearly 5,000 people are expected to be in attendance, and The Salvation Army and Phoenix Convention Center will also be preparing around 2,200 meals for people who are homebound and another 1,200 for The Salvation Army Corps Community Centers across metro Phoenix.
Please note that The Salvation Army’s Christmas dinner is independent of any other events happening at the Phoenix Convention Center on Christmas Day.
