Virginia Brooks has long been a fixture in local art community, and is a very popular painting teacher. “Teaching what I love has come very naturally to me, but I take a different approach. I offer private, one on one lessons. We paint the same subject, at side-by-side easels, and I explain everything I am doing, step by step. No matter what your age or your level of ability…you will find an encouraging atmosphere in my studio.”
All supplies are included; canvas, paint and brushes. Painters can try oils without having to purchase the materials. And many of them, after having experienced the pleasures of painting in oils, choose to make the permanent switch to the medium.
“I have made wonderful friends teaching painting. People who want to try painting are invariably fun, creative souls, whether they are beginners or the advanced painter wanting to learn something very specific. The individuals who paint with me complete an oil painting in just two sessions. It is a pleasure to watch them create.“
Virginia also holds workshops at various locations in the valley, many of them in the foothills. And for those looking for a smaller group experience she offers workshops at her studio for up to three painters.
The Hidden in the Hills Studio Tour runs November 17-19 and November 24-26. Her studio, #5, is the home studio of her Come Paint With Me painting classes. Along with her outstanding paintings Virginia’s Christmas cards of the Cave Creek/ Carefree area will be available. Her longtime guest artists are classic watercolorist, Steve Stento and fine jeweler, Donna Law. This is one stop not to miss.
