TUCSON – Tucson Sector Border Patrol hired 44 new agent trainees in September for assignments at the Douglas, Ajo and Willcox stations, following graduation from training underway at the Border Patrol Academy in Artesia, New Mexico.
All newly hired trainees are required to complete a 66-day basic training program, which includes instruction in law, operations, driver training, physical techniques and firearms. Trainees who fail to pass an initial Spanish examination will stay at the Academy for an additional 40-days to attend Spanish task-based language training.
After graduation from basic training, agents will report to their assigned stations for further training in the field and in station operations.
Tucson Sector is pleased to welcome the new agents and continue to hire more. Anyone interested in helping to strengthen the Border Patrol’s ability to protect the nation’s borders can visit www.USAjobs.gov for more information or to apply.
