Scary movie
A 2017 remake of Stephen King’s thriller, IT, has clowns throughout the country up in arms and they are not clowning around, according to the Association of Mature American Citizens [AMAC]. King’s novel-turned-film is about a menacing murderer dressed as a clown who terrorizes innocent children.
The World Clown Association says “the art of clown is something to be treasured and enjoyed” and that professional clowns are losing business on account of the movie. King says he’s sorry about that but “kids have always been scared of clowns.”
A record season
Apparently, it is the season for setting new Guinness World Record, says the Association of Mature American Citizens [AMAC].
The healthcare company, USANA, assembled 893 people in white coats to earn the title of the most people dressed as scientists. A Canadian beekeeper won the record for “a bee beard” by letting thousands of bees cover his face and torso for more than an hour. And, an exercise aficionado in Massachusetts set the Guinness record for the most pull-ups in one hour.
Talk about sightseeing
The annual Naked Bike run in Philadelphia each September draws thousands of “dare to bare” riders, reports the Association of Mature American Citizens. But, it is all for a few good causes, including the promotion of bicycles instead of gas-guzzlers to get around town and, of course, it promotes respect for our bodies. The event, says AMAC, is always a real “tour de force.”
