CAVE CREEK – Voters did not ratify the 2016 Cave Creek General Plan when it was presented to them last year.

Those who voted against it still have an opportunity to address concerns they may have about the general plan at upcoming public input sessions.

The next session is scheduled for 6 p.m. on July 20 at Cave Creek Town Hall.

During this session, the planning commission will facilitate collection of public input about the following topics:

  • General Plan Vision Statement
  • Introduction Section
  • Public Involvement Section
  • Context Section

The commission will record public input on poster paper for viewing as it did during the first input session.

Additionally, the planning commission is requesting the public record their comments on 3×5 index cards, which will be provided, with their contact information so planning staff may contact them for additional information or clarification.

The starting point for updating the 2018 General Plan is the 2016 General Plan that was presented to voters and may be accessed on the town’s website www.cavecreek.org.

The commission encourages the public to review the topics for input prior to meetings so their comments will be targeted and relevant.

A third public input session is scheduled for Aug. 17 to cover Land Use, Water and Open Space.

A fourth session, scheduled for Sept. 21, will cover Environment, Circulation (roads, trails, etc.), Cost of Development, Glossary and Appendices.

If there are HOAs or neighborhood groups that desire a meeting with a planning commission member(s), they should contact planning staff at 480-488-6614 or [email protected] to make their request and arrangements.
