“After Mr. Comey’s testimony, I am more convinced than ever of the Left’s and the radical media’s desperate attempts to sabotage President Donald Trump’s administration through exaggerated and irrational hysteria. Even with today’s testimony, Mr. Comey’s memos remain one-sided accounts of the conversations he had with President Trump. Taken at face value, they confirm that President Trump was committed to a full investigation into unproven allegations of ties to Russia. Also in his testimony, Mr. Comey stated that he initiated dialogue with then President-elect Trump about Russian influence into the 2016 elections, and he went on to reaffirm three times that President Trump is not personally under investigation by the FBI.
“I was disappointed by Mr. Comey’s arrogance as he recounted five alleged events with the President. Mr. Comey repeatedly questioned whether he should be talking to his boss, the Commander in Chief, and he brazenly inserts the admission that he ‘did not tell the President that the FBI and the Department of Justice had been reluctant to make public statements that [they] did not have an open case on President Trump.’ Mr. Comey may not have agreed with the content of the conversations taking place, but as long as those conversations were legal (which nothing in Mr. Comey’s testimony said otherwise) he is obligated to serve the President, and both are bound to act in accordance with the U.S. Constitution. I have seen no evidence – sourced or unsourced – indicating that President Trump has betrayed the U.S. Constitution or violated any law.
“According to Mr. Comey’s testimony, President Trump is only guilty of a sincere desire to have the truth exposed that he was not under investigation by the FBI. The Left and the radical media are so committed to obstructing the will of the American people by consistently promoting misleading headlines about the President. They do not speak, however, for me, my constituents, or countless Americans across the nation. We know President Trump has already gone to great lengths to keep his promises and, through those promises, he is making America great again. I will continue to do my part to ensure these truths are highlighted.”
