“Cave Creek Citizens Volunteer Wildfire Prevention Task Force”

INFORMATION:

The actual town of Cave Creek has roughly 2400 homes and apartments/condos within its boundaries. Many of these structures are in immediate (extreme) danger of burning down if a wild fire occurs.

As well if these homes and out-buildings are not properly cleared of brush by a defensible space they can lead to a much bigger fire spreading to their neighbors’ homes.

I have also spoken to many people who also are not signed up for Code Red and many people did not even know it existed.

Some people unfortunately have not received the message about this whether it’s through social media, mailings, or through collateral flyers or newspapers. There is no better way to inform people about anything in today’s world then to discuss a subject face to face.

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the task force is to engage neighbors in person by knocking on their doors to discuss,

  1. Creating a “defensible space” around their homes of at least 30 feet and any out-buildings such as barns and sheds also.
  2. To make sure they know about “Code Red” and how to sign up for it.

GAME PLAN:

We will have a meeting at 6:00 PM on Friday, April 25th at the Town Hall Council Chamber for the task force (citizens who volunteer to do this).

We will give them t-shirts recognizing them as official task force volunteers. They will be given a simple script of what to discuss. They will be given a simple to the point flyer to give each home owner (as well they will have Hangar bags to leave should no one be home). They shall be provided detailed maps of the streets (areas) in which we want them to cover.

Saturday April 26th. Sunday April 27th. —— 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Saturday May 3rd. Sunday May 4th ————-9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
