On March 13th, the Desert Foothills Gallery committee hung the beautiful Contemporary Art Show. The committee consists of Valerie Hildebrand, Ronnie Wainwright, Jim and Judy Bruce, Ted Loomis, Patrick O’Grady, Michele Corsini, Sheila Kollasch, Tess Mosko Scherer, and Julie Harmon, who are all Sonoran Arts League members. They have worked together beautifully for years hanging the art shows, and are all outstanding art show installers.
Valerie does considerable work on the prospectus, contract forms, name tags, and P.R. Tess and Sheila curate while Ted, Patrick, and Michelle climb the ladders to hang the art. Ronnie, Julie, Jim, Judy, and Valerie handle intake and outtake of the artwork. It is a huge job four times a year as part of Art in Public Places by the Sonoran Arts League, fulfilling the mission statement of the League, which reads, “To give to our community by promoting art, artists, and art education through leadership and service in the belief that an artistic awareness is essential to the well-being of life and our community.

The artwork makes our beautiful private library so much more exciting, colorful, interesting, and welcoming and showcases local art talent. The reception, held on March 21st, allowed the public to meet the artists, enjoy wine and treats, and listen to Ron Bonnstetter’s beautiful flute music. The presentations are an educational opportunity for the league members to offer a glimpse into the creative artistic mind.
The Contemporary Show presentation will be held on Thursday, April 17, at 4:00 at the library. Nicolette Bonnstetter, Valerie Hildebrand, Tom Friese, and David Knorr will present. The next column will discuss their art presentations. The address of the library is 38443 N. School House Rd, Cave Creek, AZ. 85331. The league also has art shows at the Gallery in Carefree, 7275 E Easy Street #A104, Carefree, AZ 85377.
Looking at art can give you unlimited pleasure and delight. Purchasing art can also spark joy, make your home more aesthetically pleasing, encourage local artists, enhance the economy, and support our local non-profits.
We hope to see you at the galleries and presentations and do remember…
“You Gotta Have Art!”
