Erik Gregori Potter: May 1, 1964 – February 5, 2025

With heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of Erik Gregori Potter, who passed away unexpectedly on February 5, 2025. Born on May 1, 1964, in Sioux City, Iowa, Erik lived a life full of laughter, love, and unwavering faith. A devoted follower of Christ, he carried kindness, generosity, and joy wherever he went, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met.

For 36 years, Erik was the beloved husband and best friend of his wife, Sheri. Together, they built a home in Cave Creek filled with love, laughter, and strong family bonds. He was a dedicated father to his daughter, Karly, and son, Mickey, and a proud grandfather to three grandchildren, Karinae, Memphis, and Karsten. Erik especially loved cheering on Karinae at her golf tournaments.

A skilled contractor, Erik could build or fix just about anything. His craftsmanship and hard work left a lasting mark, not only in the structures he created but in the relationships he built along the way. His hands shaped more than just homes—they shaped a lifetime of friendships and memories.

Erik was also adventurous and well-traveled, always seeking new experiences. Whether exploring the great pyramids or fishing in Mexico, he truly loved traveling and exploring with his family and friends. He had a deep love for music and was always eager to share his favorite albums or sing you a song while playing the piano.

Athletic throughout his life, Erik had a deep passion for soccer, powerlifting, and all sports. Whether playing, coaching, or cheering from the sidelines, he brought energy and heart to every game. His love for coaching extended beyond the field, as he was a mentor and inspiration to many. He was an ASU alum and a diehard Sun Devils fan.

Erik never met a stranger. His humor, warmth, and larger-than-life spirit made him the life of every gathering. His faith, kindness, and generosity touched so many lives, and his presence will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Sheri; his children and grandchildren; his mother, Gloria; his sister, Lisa; and countless friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Erik’s life will be held at The Buffalo Chip at 1 PM on March 20. In honor of his spirit, we invite you to share stories, laughter, and memories as we remember the incredible man he was.

Erik, you were one of a kind, and your light will never fade.
