The financial benefits of DOGE, although critical, is not what is most consequential. Liberating our country and towns from the bureaucrats before we lose what we value is. Carefree has become the epitome of a town controlled by the bureaucrats.
I moved here three years ago. My first two questions. How did the Hampton Inn get approved? How could anyone with an interest and love for Carefree approve such a signature? I also noticed the overcrowded development behind the hotel. I knew Carefree had a problem when I asked our leaders for explanations. Like a cabal, they all defended themselves. Finally, in promoting the property tax they could no longer hide who they cared about. Not us.
The President is working to save America. Who is working to save Carefree before Carefree will no longer be Carefree.
Perhaps, if the bureaucratic cost for waste, overspending, inefficiency, and questionable expenses did not include losing Carefree we could go with the flow. Unfortunately, not the case! Carefree’s Sonoran atmosphere will be more developed, with less open space and bleeding expenses. Do not need 20/20 to see another property tax coming. For this, the mayor approves an administrator salary twice that of our Governor and more than the $174,000 US Senator salary.
