We’ve come to the end of another good year for our beautiful town. Our finances are strong. We are working hard on water resources, continuing to upgrade streets, and opening a new fire station without raising taxes or bonds. 2024 was a good year, and 2025 will continue this path.
Please attend the State of the Town address on January 29, 2025, at the Desert Foothills Library to see and hear more about our town’s successes and what we are working on for the future.
Presentations like this or the twice-a-year business forums provide opportunities to hear directly from elected officials and staff and ask the questions you want to know. Look out for details of upcoming meetings in our new Cave Creek Prospector or the town’s website and social media pages.
Town staff have been working with the Town Council’s adopted Strategic Plan. This plan is a roadmap for the Council and staff to follow to accomplish projects and ventures that will position our town for future successful opportunities. The Planning Division received public input to update the Town Core Plan, a guideline for smartly developing our business center. Town staff upgraded at the Cave Creek Memorial Arena and Rodeo Grounds, and we are working with Cave Creek Rodeo to rebuild the Skybox.
Water is a top priority for the town. Our Utility Services Department has been storing unused CAP water allocation in groundwater recharge sites. In 2024, we achieved a milestone by having a year’s worth of long-term storage credits equal to one year’s water demands for the Town and Desert Hills. In addition, we are working with the City of Phoenix to ensure the reliability of our water supply.
2024 was a very successful year, and I look forward to 2025 as we continue to meet the community’s needs and maintain our extraordinary way of life in Cave Creek.
On behalf of the Town Council and staff of Cave Creek, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year.
Mayor Robert Morris
