Carefree – On November 30, 2024, the Kiwanis Club of Carefree welcomed over 2,600 attendees – 838 children and 1,838 adults – to its annual Kiwanis Christmas event in the Town of Carefree. Families enjoyed a festive afternoon filled with holiday cheer, live entertainment, and hands-on activities. The entire event was free to all.
Highlights included:
- Animal Encounters: Zeke the Camel, mini horses from Tender Little Hearts, donkeys from Donkeys of the Heart Rehabilitation, raptors from Wild At Heart, and exhibits by Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium.
- Family Fun: Hayrides provided by Infamous Pool Care Cave Creek, bounce houses, balloon artistry, a cowboy singing performance by Gary and Dusty, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, hotdogs, cotton candy, popcorn, and more!
- Big Bicycle Giveaway: Sixty children received brand-new bicycles.
Volunteers from the Cave Creek Unified School District’s Key Club, Ambassador Club, IB Club, and Falcon Basketball Team, as well as Key Club members from Carefree Christian Academy and volunteers from AKTION Club and Scully Learning Center, helped ensure a smooth and successful event. “The high school kids did a fabulous job and were a great addition to the event. They are stars in my book!”, shared Barb Pearse, one of the Christmas Committee members.
