At the Sept. 16 Cave Creek Town Council meeting, the Mayor and Council unanimously approved an updated pavement management analysis and an assessment of the overall Pavement Condition Index (PCI) of town roads. Based on the information obtained through this analysis, the town can prioritize the maintenance required to bring the street conditions up to Town standards. Streets are a top priority for the Town Council in the Strategic Plan and Town budgets. The previous 2020 Pavement Management Plan is nearing completion of identified projects, and the updated analysis will help determine the best expenditure for the town’s management funds.
“Well maintained roads are a priority for the Town,” said Mayor Robert Morris. “The engineering study will provide us a roadmap to improve our streets and save money from more costly repairs in the long run.”
The contract with Infrastructure Management Services (IMS) is not to exceed $29,435. IMS will use a pavement condition index (PCI) to identify the current condition of all paved roadways within the town, recommend projects to improve the town’s roads, and provide a baseline for measuring the condition of the town’s streets for future years.
IMS will evaluate 96 miles of roadway condition data through its survey to quantify pavement surface distresses’ type, severity, and quality, including cracking and rutting.
Cave Creek refreshes website
The Town of Cave Creek has launched its newly refreshed website. The site has an updated color scheme and navigation tools to help visitors quickly find the information they want.
The site’s URL, www.cavecreekaz.gov, has remained the same, but returning visitors will notice that the new look has more home page banner visuals highlighting Cave Creek’s natural beauty, colorful navigation buttons with larger descriptions, and a home page calendar listing upcoming events. The interior pages are refreshed, too, with cleaner content over white backgrounds, making reading easier. Additionally, the site is optimized for smartphone usage.
CivicPlus, a national leader in local government website designs and web applications, redesigned the Town’s site.
