The Daisy Mountain Veterans (DMV) announce the highly-anticipated Veterans Parade will return Saturday, November 9 at 10:00 a.m. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the event in Anthem.
DMV Josh Miller (USMC) will return again this year to chair the event. The parade honors veterans and those currently serving our nation. This year, the DMV will pay tribute to the families of those currently serving.
“We are proud to continue the parade tradition in Anthem that began twenty years ago with fellow Marine and Daisy Mountain Veteran Mary Ann Derryberry leading the charge. Even in the years when we didn’t think we could make it happen, the community support for the event surged and the parade continued.
“We hope this year will be another year of celebration for all those who have and continue to serve this great nation. The decision to set aside space in the beginning of the parade to honor the families of those men and women who currently service our Armed Forces will add a special moment to this year’s parade.”
Family members of those currently serving who would like to participate in the parade should complete the entry form at DaisyMntVets.org (fee waived) and check the box identifying family of currently serving. These families will be grouped in the beginning of the parade route. Family member parade participants is limited to immediate family (parents/children). Children of those currently serving may ride their bikes along the route with their parent/guardian.
Note: Those family members who participate in the parade with a business/organization are encouraged to continue their tradition with that fussiness/organization and provide note the family name and serviceman/woman name on that entry form.
This year, the DMV also will group Gold Star families in the beginning of the parade route. Gold Star families who would like to participate in the dedicated Gold Star family parade section should complete the entry form (fee waived) and check the Gold Star family box.

“The DMV parade plays an important role in the lives of our veterans, those currently serving this nation and military families. As a veteran, I know how much tributes like this mean to those who have and continue to serve our Armed Forces. This parade symbolizes how Anthem supports them and honors them not just on Veterans Day, but every day. We hope every business and organization in town will participate in the parade and everyone in town will bring their family and friends to line the parade route to pay tribute on November 9, 2024.”
Sponsorship/Donors. CWO Tapp adds, “Most are unaware of the costs associated with the parade. With traffic plans, security presence, permits, audio equipment and street cleaning, the event costs can exceed $20,000 each year. The Daisy Mountain Veteran parade is dependent on sponsors to help offset the costs and we hope we continue to receive the financial and in-kind support for this parade we have had in the past through the generosity of our local businesses, families, nonprofits and organizations.”
