Why I am running for town council

I grew up in a family that believes you should give back to your community . My father ingrained in us, the spirit of volunteerism and in being not just a voter but someone who gets involved at the local level.

Throughout my retail career of 45 years, I have always been involved in the towns I have been in whether through volunteering ,serving on the Chamber of Commerce or founding a merchants association. I believe every town is defined by its downtown and it is important to have a healthy relationship between town government and the merchants. The health of the downtown is directly tied to the health of the town as a whole. since 62% of our operating income comes from sales tax we need to have a healthy retail sector.

I am the only one running who has a retail background and has spent her career generating sales tax. The changing retail climate makes it imperative that we have someone on council who understands the retail sector and how to support it and help it grow responsibly.

Since I moved to Carefree, I have served on the board of my HOA the boulders I am on the board of Carefree Park and am part of the 40th anniversary committee. If elected to the council, I will do my best to represent the residents of this community and do what is best to preserve our town. I am at the Post Office most mornings feel free to come by and ask questions.

I don’t believe in name-calling or attacks from unnamed sources I see no reason why each candidate can’t be judged by their views and their actions. I trust the electorate to choose the candidates they feel best represent their views or aspirations .Good luck to everyone who’s running it is a lot of hard work And we are lucky to have so many people in the race.
