Balanced leadership

From the struggles around Carefree Highway development and the Phoenix Interconnect construction costs to the Morning Star Trail dispute, every neighborhood in Town is ultimately on the receiving end of Council decisions that can impact their quality of life.

As the Valley grows, our neighborhoods face increased pressures from development, which underscores the need for careful negotiations and purposeful planning.  The Town needs leaders that understand property rights and values. If we don’t strike a balance between Open Space land acquisition, Residential and Commercial usage, we run the risk of losing our autonomy.

Preserving the eclectic character of our town while embracing the best opportunities for growth is our ‘winning ticket’. Consider what the Town’s strengths are:  natural beauty, community, culture, western heritage and resilience.  Let’s honor the efforts of fellow Creekers who pursued incorporation back in the ’80s by focusing on these aspects.

It’s critical to support the tenets of a general plan, and clarify what “low density” really means, and what developmental overlays can help protect our land, water, and safety needs. To maintain our fiscal health, it’s imperative we do a better job of attracting the type of sustainable commerce that can add to our town’s economic vitality and thrive year-round. Let’s foster more love for our existing establishments through needed improvements in parking, traffic, and aesthetics that can support their ongoing success.

Cave Creek deserves balanced leadership that advocates for all and challenges the status quo. If you’re looking for a fresh face who supports property rights and isn’t afraid to speak up for our neighborhoods, then I’d be honored to earn your vote in our upcoming election.
