July 30th election

Vote for carefree town council candidates who listen to residents.

50% of the seats for Carefree Town Council (TC) are up for election on July 30th. This is a huge opportunity to vote for three candidates to represent YOU.
Over the past year, the Town of Carefree has repeatedly engaged resident opinion through surveys for changes to the town’s General Plan “GP” (foundational planning document for next 10+ years). Over 350 unique resident submissions were made through multiple surveys with overwhelming support of removing the SPA designation on the NW corner of Tom Darlington and Carefree highway from the GP. Residents have invested countless hours in responding, attending and speaking at well-attended town meetings.

Are members of the Town Council (TC) and Planning & Zoning (P&Z) embracing what the residents are telling them? One current councilmember who is running for re-election is NOT listening.

At a recent council meeting, some councilmembers “dug deep” to find reasons to not support the residents in an unceasingly, condescending manner. Specifically, Vince D’Aliesio (running for re-election), Sheila Amorosa and Mike Johnson. And then Cheryl Kroyer flip flopped! They, along with even some Carefree staff(!) lamented wasting months of time and fear mongered instead of embracing the opinions of countless residents who spoke. Listen to recent town meeting recordings at www.carefree.org.

Three other candidates that are running in this election listen and support removing the SPA from the General Plan. Namely, Diane Roth, Carefree resident who regularly speaks at town meetings and engages with residents at the Post Office, Nakisa Azizi who speaks up at meetings and Lon Johnson, current P&Z commissioner who voted to remove the SPA at the last P&Z meeting.

Do you want a Carefree Town Council that listens, embraces and respects resident’s opinions?

CHOOSE WISELY, ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES!
